Randy coaches clients in their 40’s, 50’s, and 60’s. He recently provided this advice regarding resume length and what’s important to recruiters and employers:
- Anyone could be successful in the 90’s. Enough time has passed now since the dotcom bust. We are now in a completely different economy.
- The highly desired accomplishments are those made by job seekers since 2001.
- Most companies want to know how a candidate can help them survive the next 6 months from a revenue and productivity standpoint (it is mostly tactical now).
- Strategic thinkers (defining products and services in 2010 and beyond) are mostly not in vogue at the moment.
For what it’s worth!
